Our building remains open for Shabbat, but to the vaccinated only. During this current surge of Covid positivity we are taking additional precautions to decrease the relative risk inherent to public gathering.

  • If you are immunocompromised, you are still strongly urged to not attend services.
  • If you have tested positive and have recently been in synagogue, be sure to contact Rabbi Bellino who - along with advisors - is monitoring community positivity. (Your health status will be kept confidential).

Weekly Update: Shabbat Bo 5782

Candle Lighting: 4:26 PM
Mincha/Kabbalat Shabbat: 4:25 PM
Shema After: 5:31 PM
Daf Yomi: 8:00 AM
Shacharit: 9:00 AM
Morning Shema Before: 9:41 AM
Shabbat Ends: 5:31 PM

Our building remains open for Shabbat, but to the vaccinated only. All persons currently eligible in New York City for COVID-19 vaccination are required to provide proof of vaccination in order to enter the Sixth Street Community Synagogue building, or attend any events at the synagogue.  As eligibility changes (extended to groups such as children, booster shots become available/recommended), all persons eligible will have two months from the time they become eligible to demonstrate proof of vaccination. If you have not already submitted a copy of your vaccination card, we ask that you bring vaccine verification to synagogue. We expect everyone present to wear a mask that covers the nose and and mouth while inside the building.

During this current surge of Covid positivity we are taking additional precautions to decrease the relative risk inherent to public gathering.

  • If you are immunocompromised, you are strongly urged to not attend services until positivity rates significantly decline.
  • If you have tested positive and have recently been in synagogue, be sure to contact Rabbi Bellino who - along with advisors - is monitoring community positivity. (Your health status will be kept confidential).
  • Aliyot will not be distributed, but performed by the Ba'al Qeriah.
  • For the foreseeable future, Kiddush will be held outdoors, Seudah Shelishit will not be served, and increased social-distancing will be maintained. No inside dining is permitted. Should the weather not cooperate, to-go tins will be provided.

With so many of our regulars away, there will be no Shabbat Mincha or Arvit. Sunday morning Shacharit will resume a bit later in January.

Shabbat starts soon. Please plan accordingly and help us start our Minyan on time.

Friday Night Kiddush has been provided by the house.

Shabbat Morning Kiddush has been sponsored by Kate Winick and Daniele Andrade  (& Adam Merran) in celebration of both Kate and Daniele's conversion to Judaism. Kate and Daniele offer their wholehearted and sincere thank you to the Sixth Street community for being so warm and welcoming, and to Rabbi Bellino for his consistent help along the way.

With sadness we note the passing of Rabbi Dr. Moshe Dovid Tendler, Rosh Yeshiva and Professor of Biology at Yeshiva University, and Rabbi of the Community Synagogue of Monsey.
