Dear friends,
As we begin a new cycle of Torah reading and study, I ask that you consider joining me in Tanakh Yomi, our (near) daily study of Bible that facilitates its completion in one year.
Several years ago, after I noticed a significant gap in my own Jewish education, I devised this Tanakh Yomi program. Here's how it works:
- Follow/read the Torah reading every Shabbat.
- Read approximately 3 chapters of Prophets/Writings Sunday thru Friday.
- Follow the Megillot on the days we read them.
To keep everyone on the same page, I have generated a calendar. It includes the daily readings as well as several days after each book for rest and "catch-up." This year I plan to offer outlines, introductions, and reviews for each book.
You may find the 5786 Schedule here.
Book of Joshua: Brief Outline - Detailed Outline - Key Figures - Key Places - Map of Cananite Tribes - Map of the Conquest - Map of the Division of the Land
More resources can be found on our Tanakh Yomi Page.
The Tanakh Yomi cycle begins this Shabbat with the reading of Beraishit. Join us!
Blessings, GZB
