Mincha/Kabbalat Shabbat - this week at 5:45 PM - is held shortly after candle-lighting time. Please join us as we enjoy beautiful services, thoughtful Torah study, and our flourishing community.

All Shabbat Services are held in our main sanctuary.

In these tragic and scary times we stand with all those victimized by senseless hatred and fanaticism, at home, in Israel, and abroad. We pray for safety, healing, and peace.

We wish a Mazal Tov to our Simchat Torah Honorees: Daniel Gerschel, Kol HaNearim (Children's Aliyah), Brenda Pace, Aderet Torah (Magnificence of the Torah), Rav Andrew Scheer, Chattan Torah (Groom of the Torah), Dr. Ashira Lubkin, Tiferet Bereishit (Glory of Creation), Michael Mitzner, Chattan Beraishit (Groom of Creation).

We are grateful to our many Simchat Torah Sponsors: Michelle Charnoff & Brian Polay, who sponsored our Simchat Torah Keg; Solomon Birnbaum, Dina & Kenneth Canfield, Agita & Jonathan Falik, Erin Scharfman, and Shelly & Elie Yudewitz, who sponsored our adult beverages; Phyllis & Barnet Liberman, who sponsored our supply of water, keeping us sufficiently hydrated; the Lebewohl Family, who sponsored our Yom Tov Candy Buffet; Shelly & Elie Yudewitz, who sponsored our Super Secret Pre-Hakafot Kiddush, and to Francesca & Dr. Micah Timen, who sponsored our copious supply of Advil served at said Kiddush; Alan "Bubbles" Schwartz, who sponsored the Kids' Hakafa; Daniella, Elie, & Joseph Bedros, Avi Beluca, Elizabeth Ehrlich & Leon Potok, Yitz Komin, Michael Krasna, Dr. Ava Liberman, Dr. Ashira Lubkin, Alan, Matan & Sarit Feder, Jackie & Donny Furst, Brenda Pace, Celine & Alexander Rohr, Pamela & Dr. Max Scheer, and Victoria Skolnick, who sponsored the Kiddush and endless snacks.

We wish a Mazal Tov to Ke$het Bellino on reading from the Torah for the first time.

We are grateful to David Lessman for all his effort in building, preparing, enhancing, and taking down our sukkah.

Kol Nidre Appeal: We are grateful to all those who have already paid their pledges. To pay your Kol Nidre pledge, click here, or Venmo us: @SixthStreetSynagogue, or send a check to: Sixth Street Community Synagogue, 325 East Sixth Street, New York, NY, 10003.

Community Security: We are actively working to enhance our sense of safety and security. We are grateful to Sara Liss and the larger security team for taking on this responsibility. To find out more and to become involved, please contact Sara.

Sixth Street Parents Committee: Our Sixth Street parents committee is planning a number of events for our youngest members and the larger community, and we want you to know about them! The Sixth Street Parents Google group is where events are publicized, meetings are called, and babysitters' contacts are shared. If you'd like to be added to the group, please email Alan Feder or Julia Salant.

Torah Readers: We are looking for men who can prepare to read at Shabbat Mincha (and possibly at Shacharit during the week as well) throughout the year. A schedule of readers is being maintained. If you can commit to any dates, please contact Rabbi Bellino. We are also looking for women to prepare aliyot for a Women’s Torah Reading in the near future. Rabbi Bellino is happy to help anyone learn how to prepare a reading.

Please continue to assist our weekday morning Minyan. Consider increasing your commitment to community and synagogue by attending.

Our plentiful and delicious Kiddushes on Sixth Street greatly enhance our synagogue and community. To sponsor or to co-sponsor a Friday night Kiddush, a Shabbat Kiddush, a Shabbocktail, our Shabbat Shabeer supply, or a Seudah Shelishit, contact Rabbi Bellino. The next Shabbat Kiddush available to sponsor is November 16th (Shabbat Vayera).
