In these tragic and scary times we stand with Israel and all those victimized by senseless hatred and fanaticism. We pray for safety, healing, and peace. Please join us at all of our services for our recitations of additional Psalms.
We wish a Mazal Tov to Alexia Friend-Marks & Harris Marks upon the birth of a boy. There will be a Shalom Zachar following Friday night services.
We wish a Mazal Tov to Arezoo & Sam Jesselson upon the Pidyon of their son Nathaniel Liam.
We wish a Mazal Tov to Dr. Ziva Cooper upon her marriage to Prof. Sasha Straus.
Last Monday's Tu b'Shevat lecture was a great success. We are grateful to our education committee, to Ellen R. Cherrick for sponsoring the delicious Tu b'Shevat collation (in honor of the Tu B’Shvat birthdays of her brother, Rabbi Alfy Cherrick, and of her great-niece Baila Cherrick), to Annie Peck for leading the discussion, to Seth Siegel for sharing his expertise, and to 50+ people in attendance.
Friday night services are super early. (This week at 4:55 PM). Please help us to ensure that our service begins on time. Expect to be rewarded with snacks, drinks, as well as some Torah study and song.
Our plentiful and delicious Kiddushes on Sixth Street greatly enhance our synagogue and community. To sponsor or co-sponsor a Friday night Kiddush, a Shabbat Kiddush, a Shabbocktail, our Shabbeer supply, or a Seudah Shelishit, contact Rabbi Bellino.
We are looking for additional support staff. Do you know someone with strong computer and organizational skills who can work 15-20 hours a week? Contact info@sixthstreetsynagogue.org.
