Community News

We hope you had a wonderful Pesach. As the weather is warming up, so are the happenings at Sixth Street. We are planning some exciting events, so please save the dates and read about them below!

This Shabbat we begin our Summer Schedule. Friday Mincha/Kabbalat Shabbat will be held at 7:00 PM until the Shabbat following Labor Day. Additionally, Rabbi Bellino will teach his Shabbat Afternoon Avot classes one hour before Mincha. a

We express our deep appreciation to our own Jeff Katz for leading an exceptionally meaningful and informative tour last night of the Museum of Jewish Heritage’s core exhibit “A Living Memorial to the Holocaust” in commemoration of Yom HaShoah.

Israel Awareness Committee: A new committee, co-chaired by Jeff Katz and Annie Watman, has been created to strengthen our synagogue's identification with the State of Israel's culture, people, challenges, and history. There will be a bi-monthly Israel Awareness Reading Group, meeting for the first time toward the end of May. The first book will be "Menachem Begin: The Battle for Israel's Soul" by Daniel Gordis. To get involved, please email jeff.katz48@gmail.com. More details will be uploaded to the website soon.

We're proud to be a member synagogue of The Downtown Va'ad, an Orthodox rabbinic network, founded by Rabbis Sarna & Bellino, intended to advance the welfare and flourishing of the Downtown community. Check out the Va'ad on Facebook for more information.
