Dear Friends,
Please let me help you sell your Hametz. I have created this digital form which will work as your authorization for the sale of Hametz. I plan to sell your Hametz on Tuesday evening.
This Wednesday - Erev Pesach - is the Fast of the Firstborn. It is customary for all firstborn males to fast in order to recall the tenth and final plague which God inflicted upon the Egyptians. It is common practice to participate in a siyum - the completion of a talmudic text - in order to remove the obligation of fasting. Several scholars have suggested that a better method is to "redeem the fast" by giving charity. This was most famously explained by the 20th century halachic decisor, Rabbi Yosef Eliyahu Henkin. For more information or to make a donation click here. As always, you may Venmo the synagogue @sixthstreetsynagogue (be sure to specify the reason for the donation). 100% of your donation will be given to charity.
Wishing you health, healing, and a Season of Redemption that is festive and meaningful.
