We are deeply saddened by the passing this week of Chazzan Sherwood Goffin, cantor of Lincoln Square Synagogue for over 50 years, and teacher of a generation of cantors (including Rabbi Bellino) at the Belz School of Jewish Music.
Passover Charity: In keeping with the spirit of empathy that Passover engenders, we prepare for Passover by assisting others in their preparation. This year, Rabbi Bellino will disburse charity funds to those living in downtown who require assistance and will also support the important efforts of the Masbia Soup Kitchen Network. You may make a donation here, or Venmo us @sixthstreetsynagogue (be sure to specify Passover Charity!). Of course, you may also bring in a check (made out to Sixth Street Community Synagogue Rabbi's Discretionary), or cash before Passover.
Sell Your Chametz: Rabbi Bellino is happy to sell your Chametz for you. Please do so here. Do not pay him. Support his charity (see above).
Sixth Street Parents Committee: Our Sixth Street parents committee is planning a number of events for our youngest members and the larger community, and we want you to know about them! The Sixth Street Parents Google group is where events are publicized, meetings are called, and babysitters' contacts are shared. If you'd like to be added to the group, please email Jeremy.
2018 Tax Letter: You may have received a tax letter from us listing all of your 2018 tax-deductible contributions to the synagogue. If you have any questions about the statement, or feel that some contributions were not listed, please contact us at 212-473-3665, or email us.
Torah Readers: We are looking for men who can prepare to read at Shabbat Mincha (and possibly at Shacharit during the week as well) throughout the year. A schedule of readers is being maintained. If you can commit to any dates, please contact Rabbi Bellino. We are also looking for women to prepare aliyot for a Women’s Torah Reading in the near future. Rabbi Bellino is happy to help anyone learn how to prepare a reading.

Please join us for our annual Shabbat HaGadol Drasha on the topic “A Tale of Two Seders: Creativity Versus Convention From the Mishnah to Modernity", presented by Dr. Shai Secunda, the Jacob Neusner Associate Professor in the History and Theology of Judaism at Bard College.
April 14th - Kid's Pesach Prep
Join us on April 14th at 10:30 AM as we help our youngest members prepare for Passover. Expect (chametz!) brunch, Passover arts and crafts, Matzah baking, and a Passover sing-along with Rabbi Bellino. Kid's Shul Merch will be for sale. The event is free, but please register on the event page so we know how many are coming (Please note the number of adults and children).

FOUNDATIONS OF JUDAISM: A sensitive and sophisticated introduction to Judaism, intended for beginners, and focusing on many of the ritual, legal, linguistic, and philosophical basics of our faith. Wednesdays 6:30-8:00 PM.
RABBINIC STORY TELLING: A literary analysis of the stories told by the Rabbis of the Talmud. Wednesdays 8:00-9:00 PM.
SHACHARIT: Miriam Kaplan on Shacharit, the daily morning prayer. Shabbat, following Kiddush.
