Rabbi Bellino's class in Avot d'Rabbi Natan continues this week. This text is a commentary and elaboration on Pirkei Avot that was compiled during the Geonic Period. This late Midrash provides explanations of most of the aphorisms of Avot, as well as hagiography on the lives of many of the sages quoted. Class meets on Shabbat, one hour before Mincha. Israel Awareness Committee: The Israel Awareness Committee's Book Club will be reading Amos Oz's A Tale of Love and Darkness, soon to be make into a motion picture with Natalie Portman. The committee will meet on Monday, August 17 at 7:00 PM to discuss the book and share pizza and beer. To get involved, please email jeff.katz48@gmail.com.
