Dear Friends,
Our congregation has experienced a dramatic growth in our Shabbat attendance, most significantly felt on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons. As we welcome this increase in participation, we realize that our Beit Midrash no longer adequately meets our needs. Moving forward, we plan to hold Shabbat services in our main sanctuary exclusively, for the foreseeable future.
Simply put, our Beit Midrash does not allow us to offer the substantial and dignified Women's Section that we are able to provide upstairs. It contradicts our otherwise welcoming spirit and modern sensibility.
We understand that in this move, we will be sacrificing the intimacy of our downstairs space. In order to maintain our warm environment and vibrant sound, we strongly encourage that you move up toward the front rows.
Additionally, we ask those of you who do not usually attend on Friday nights to give it a try this week. We hear that there will be a great Kiddush following services.
Thank you,
The Sixth Street Synagogue Board
