Greetings Friends,   Despite the relatively low Covid positivity rates north of Houston Street, the recent uptick of positivity on the Lower East Side concerns us, as does the reality that rates seem to be increasing in all neighborhoods of NYC - including ours. It is for this reason that we have again decided to voluntarily close our building THIS Shabbat (12/12).   We share your disappointment, but we believe that this is an appropriately cautious measure, one that demonstrates our acknowledgment of the realities that we continue to face, as well as our continuous commitment to act boldly (and creatively) to protect our community, our neighborhood, and beyond.   We ask that you not overwhelm other synagogues in our neighborhood and that you continue your rigorous social distancing practices.     Gavriel Bellino, Rabbi Elie Yudewitz, President
