Dear Friends,
The universal Ashkenazic custom is to recite Yizkor on the final day of Passover. We mitigate our holiday joy as we reflect upon the passing of our friends and family. We "check on" our loved ones, praying for their continued relief and protection.
This year, we are unfortunately unable to gather to recite Yizkor together as a congregation. Although Yizkor is not a formal obligation, and may be skipped, it may certainly - and perhaps appropriately - be recited privately. If you are in need of the text, or simply prefer the Sixth Street version, you may access it here.
Yizkor includes a commitment to give charity. I gently request that you consider our synagogue and/or my charity fund as worthy beneficiaries of your holiday generosity. You may - as always you may do so by check, on our website, or Venmo us @SixthStreetSynagogue .
Wishing you continued good health, healing, and a wonderful Yom Tov.
