Greetings friends,

After much deliberation, we have decided to join several other Tri-State Area synagogues and cancel our Purim party

Purim Plans:

  1. We will still hold services on Monday night (7:00 PM Maariv & 7:15 PM Megilla) and Tuesday AM (7:30 AM Shacharit & 8:00 AM Megilla).
  2. We will live stream the reading of the Megilla online.

Until we are directed otherwise, our services and classes will go on as scheduled. We have several sinks and plenty of hand soap. We encourage those showing any symptoms, the immunocompromised, those considered at higher risk, and those who believe they may have been exposed, to avoid us for the time being.

We acknowledge that this decision is partially illogical, because a virus doesn't distinguish between ritual assembly and discretionary fun; however, packing our social hall with scores of people for what is always a very long and chaotic night, does not feel like a responsible service to the community that we care so deeply about. Additionally, we feel that holding our party would be insensitive to so many of our friends and family members who are unable to join us this year.

We have 65 days to fix this. See you on Lager BaOmer.
