Walking the Inner Language of Halacha:
Based on the Works of Rav Shagar zt"l
Tuesday, November 7, 2017
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Please join us THIS Tuesday night, November 7th, at 7:00 PM, as we welcome Rav Ori Lifshitz and Dr. Eitan Abramovitch of Yeshivat Siach Yitzchak in Efrat (Rav Shagar's Yeshiva). Building on the writings of Rav Shagar, they will discuss how Halacha is not simply about praxis, but about faith as well, and how Halacha gives and allows us a life of faith in today's post-modern world.
Pizza and Beer will be served.
The lecture is free but please register on the event page if you plan to attend.
SPEAKERS:
Rav Ori Lifshitz is the rabbi of Kibbutz Tirat Tzvi, and a lecturer at Herzog College in Alon Shvut. He is also a deputy battalion commander (res.) in an elite IDF infantry unit. His Ph.D. dissertation examines redaction and meaning in the Babylonian Talmud.
Dr. Eitan Abramovitch studied at Yeshivat Ma’alot and later on at Siach Yitzhak where, since 2008, he has taught philosophy, Hassidism and contemporary philosophy. His Ph.D. dissertation examines Jewish identity in the writings of R. Tzadok of Lublin. He is an editor at the institute for the advancement of Rav Shagar’s writings.
