This class is the third installment of the Monday Night Lecture Series. Carole Basri will link mid-twentieth century Iraqi ethnic cleansing policies that destroyed one of the most ancient Jewish communities, and the current brutal policies of ISIS perpetrated against Christian, Kurdish, Shiite and Yazedi minorities.

Carole Basri, JD, a Sixth Street Community Synagogue member, is a legal expert associated with Fordham Law School, Beijing University School of Transnational Law, as well as a visiting professor at Hebrew University  Law School and Pericles Law School in Moscow.

In 2002, Carole joined the U.S. State Department’s “Future of Iraq” Project and served on the Iraqi Reconstruction Development Council in Baghdad. She has been a commentator on the Iraqi elections and constitution for MSNBC, CNN, FOX, and Al Iraquiya TV. She is the author of many books and a filmmaker.
