Cancer Genetics & the Jewish Community: A Conversation with Sharsheret, Dr. Ken Offit & Dr. Jeremy Block

 On Thursday October 26th, at 7:00 PM, Sharsheret (www.sharsheret.org) and the Sixth Street Community Synagogue will host a panel discussion about cancer genetics and individuals of Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. The event will be held at the synagogue, located at 325 East Sixth Street, between 1st & 2nd Avenues.

The panel includes:
  • Dr. Ken Offit, the Chief of Clinical Genetics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
  • Melissa Rosen, Director of National Outreach for Sharsheret
  • Dr. Jeremy Block, Co-Founder of Medaptive Health and Co-Investigator on the digital health population screening study (BFOR) at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
Following the panel discussion, Dr. Offit will describe the BRCA Founder Outreach Registry (BFOR), a research initiative headed by top experts in the fields of cancer research and genetics, that aims to create a new model of delivering both personalized genetic testing and crucial genetic counseling services to people in need.

Light Refreshments will be served.
