News

We are saddened by the passing of our member, Professor Mark Mirsky. The final night of Shiva is this Saturday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Shiva is being observed at 852 Lincoln Place in Brooklyn. May the family be consoled amongst those who mourn for Zion and Jerusalem.

Our Tanakh Yomi students are studying I Kings. Even if you skipped II Samuel (basically, the dramatic saga in which King David rises to power, conquers enemies, dances wildly, commits royal adultery, sparks family chaos, survives a coup by his own son, and ends the book both victorious and exhausted by the sheer amount of soap-opera energy he personally introduced into ancient Israel), please consider learning I Kings with us.  To enhance your study and/or keep things straight, please find the following resources that can also be found on our Tanakh Yomi page.

Book of I Kings: Brief Outline - Detailed Outline
                                     Key Figures - Key Places

BTW, our schedule has us starting II Kings on 12/16, so stay strong!

The Tuesday Night Genesis Rabbah Class will not meet this week.

On December 19th we will a host a Shabbat/Rosh Chodesh/Chanukah Dinner. Please RSVP so that you can join us for the longest benching of the year!

Modi has added a second show at the iconic Radio City Music Hall. Tickets for both shows April 23rd - and now April 30th - shows are available here

At Kol Nidrei, Rabbi Bellino asked for your continued assistance in running shul and in protecting it as a space to run to. Please join him in these efforts by participating in the Kol Nidrei campaign. You may do so here

Israel in our Hearts

Please continue to you support each other. While this sort of peril and loss, as well as the emotional responses they engender, aren’t new to our national history, they are - in fact - new to most of us. Remember that we all come to the (kiddush) table with different psychological skill sets and traumas. Look out for one another, check in, and be flexible to, and understanding of, the broad spectrum that is the emotional health of others. We ask that when you speak to each other, you be mindful of potentially inflammatory language and gruesome content; particularly in the presence of children.

Find comfort in community as we process the daily horrors and pray for safety, peace, and consolation.
