Community News

We wish a Mazal Tov to our friends Rebekah Thornhill & Max Tokatlilar on their engagement.

Please join us on Saturday at 6:20 PM for Rabbi Bellino's Shabbat Shuva Drasha.

High Holy Days: We had a record attendance over Rosh Hashana. We are grateful to all those who helped with preparations before and during the holiday, especially to NYU Rabbis, Yehuda Sarna and Joe Wolfson.

Yom Kippur is days away. Please see the website for more information on seating, tickets, and payment if you haven't made arrangements yet, or email Rabbi Bellino. Click here for fasting tips.

Membership: We ask that you please renew your commitment to our synagogue. Your membership dues are essential to our operation and growth. There are, of course, various membership options. We hope that one works for you.

Family - $800 (Includes Two High Holidays tickets)

Individual - $450 (Includes One High Holidays ticket)

Associate - $300 (Does not include High Holiday Seats)

Student - $150 (High Holiday Seat may be purchased for $100)

Classes

On this Sunday, September 20, our downtown community will converge on Sixth Street for a morning of study, featuring Dr. Moshe Halbertal as well as Dr. Michelle Sarna and Rabbi Aviad Bodner. Relax, there will be breakfast. 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM. For more information, visit the Downtown Va’ad page. Click here for the flyer.

Save the Dates

On Shabbat Lech Lecha (October 23-24) Wendy Amsellem of Drisha Institute will join us as a Shabbat Scholar. Find the schedule and information regarding the Friday night dinner in shul here. Our Shabbatonim are sponsored by a generous bequest made by Garry Roemer.

Downtown Community

We are thrilled that there are new Kosher options in our neighborhood.

Mocha Burger at 496 Laguardia Place.

Prime Sushi at the Promenade Sports Bar, 344 Third Avenue.

Please support all of our local Kosher restaurants.

We are proud to be a member synagogue of The Downtown Va'ad, an Orthodox rabbinic network, founded by Rabbis Sarna & Bellino, intended to advance the welfare and flourishing of the Downtown community. Check out the Va'ad on Facebook for more information.

Feedback

We encourage your participation and insight. Feedback to Elie Yudewitz, Rabbi Bellino or the Shul Office would be most appreciated. Please contact us with any suggestions and/or concerns, or most importantly, to volunteer. You can also make suggestions here.

Sixth Street Community Synagogue

We like to think we're different. Everyone from the traditionally Orthodox to the occasionally observant feels at home here - 365 days a year. We hope you do too.
